General and Preventive Dentistry

Prevention is a hallmark of our practice. We believe that regular maintenance and the appropriate use of preventive procedures, such as fluoride and sealants play a significant role in reducing the amount of dentistry a patient may require through the years.

Children

We are a family oriented practice. We like to start regular dental care for children beginning at age three. Parents are encouraged to come with their child into the treatment room to share their experience and make the child feel more at ease.

Our hygienists have over fifty years of clinical experience, and have been with our practice an average of 8 years.

A note about sealants.
In our practice, sealants are applied by the Doctor not the Hygienist. Doctor Hill uses a technique that ensures the grooves of the teeth are properly prepared and sealed so that no debris or decay is being trapped under the sealant. In many instances we find a small amount of decay and Dr. Hill will place a tiny filling under the sealant.

Comprehensive Diagnostics

The first step of diagnosis is observation. There is no substitute for a thorough clinical examination.

Dr. Hill will meet with you at the beginning of your initial appointment to discuss your dental and medical history. Together you will discuss any problems and expectations you may have. He will involve you in the examination and with the aid of an intra-oral camera you can participate in the examination of your mouth. This method of co-diagnosis leaves you with a much better understanding of your oral health.

In some cases a laboratory analysis with articulated models of your teeth are required to identify problems and determine how to properly design the correct treatment to address those issues.

We utilize digital X-rays to minimize patient exposure and enhance diagnostic capability.

Enhanced Oral Cancer Screening

We have recently added the VelScope (www.velsope.com) oral cancer screening device to our practice; you will be offered the screening in addition to our manual and visual exam.
